Beyond the Business

Empowering communities, nurturing the planet – our commitment beyond culinary excellence

Our company of chefs believes in the power of feeding people good food. For decades, we’ve partnered with remarkable nonprofits in the United States and abroad to support their missions the best way we know how: through food.

We’re fortunate to be in a unique position to help our communities. Our sous vide products are fully cooked and ready to eat, making them a convenient solution for food pantries with cold storage as well as areas in crisis where full kitchens may not be easy to come by.

Whether the donations are large or small, our goal remains the same: to go beyond the business and support our communities through delicious, comforting food.

Celebrating our global diversity

We are a global company of chefs, with facilities in France, Thailand, and several in the United States, and a vital part of our company is the diverse cultural backgrounds from which our employees come.

“In Sterling, we have people from over 30 countries,” says Wede Gibson, people chief and diversity officer at Cuisine Solutions. “We speak about 15 languages in that plant, and we have figured out a way to work with people from different cultures, different nationalities, and different languages.”

Founder and chairman Stanislas Vilgrain explains that in our newest plant in San Antonio, Texas, our team includes 250 refugees from Afghanistan. To support different backgrounds, our training programs are conducted virtually and in the employees’ native language.

“The big issue with refugees, especially when they come from countries like Afghanistan or Syria or Iraq or places like that, is the language,” says founder and chairman Stanislas Vilgrain. “So if we take a large number, we can take translators, so that helps a lot, and helps them assimilate very easily inside the society.”

We also go beyond providing professional services to support our diverse workforce. Our annual holiday party is a chance to celebrate that diversity. “The parties at Cuisine Solutions are the most fun,” Vilgrain says, “because everybody's dancing until they have to kick us out at three o'clock in the morning from the hotel. And it's a lot of fun because everybody shares with everybody the culture of each other.”
